RELEASES NEW FOCUS SINGLE ‘ON MY MIND’

Johannesburg, Friday, 25 June 2021 – Today Cape Town born singer, songwriter and producer, Hersh, unveils his new EP ‘Peace of Mind’ on all digital platforms. The 9 track release is a body of work that draws from his lived experiences and encapsulates the most important things in his life - love, truth, dreams, and opportunities.

 

The 9 track Ep title reflects the scope of his expansive and enigmatic style and is inspired by how he reached peace of mind is a balance between his mind and his heart. The body of work is honest and encapsulates love, truth, dreams, and opportunities.

'I'm so happy to finally present a project I've been working on for so long. I really want people to vibe with this one. This project really means a lot to me and explains who I am. It's finally ready for the world to hear.'

Hersh has also been selected as Apple Music’s Up Next Artist alongside 9 others. Apple Music: Up Next is a monthly program published by Apple Music aimed at identifying, showcasing and elevating rising talent. Each month, Apple Music's editorial team selects an artist to promote to raise global awareness of the artist and further to grow the artist's audience. When asked how he felt about being selected, Hersh had the following to say:

'I am proud and honoured to be selected as the Apple Music 'Up Next South African artist'. It makes me happy knowing that I am doing what I love and that my music has a relatable experience or has made someone feel good. I'm all about chasing my dream and in my music I encourage people to do the same and these things help make your dream come true!'

Understandably Hersh says that all the songs on the album are his favourite, but if he had to choose his top 3 it would be ‘Enough’, ‘Life with a Twist’ and ‘Everything’.

“I have different favourites all the time, but if Enough, Life With A Twist and Everything are symbolic tracks of the EP. They give the listener insight to a beautiful journey that ends in 'Peace Of Mind'.”

Determined to put Cape Town on the map, Hersh is a proud Capetonian who desires to showcase the Mother City’s hidden gems. The only two features on his EP are Cape Town artists, KASH CPT and Soulful Clay.

“We have a lot of talent that people don’t get to see, and I would like to showcase that. KASH CPT and I go way back, and we have a connection that is out of this world. Soulful Clay and I met last year, he’s extremely talented and he plays a range of instruments and is a brilliant producer,’ said Hersh.

Hersh also worked with various producers on the EP, including Maldives native, Yazan, who he met through Red Bull Studios.

 

When asked what his hopes for the EP are, he said,

 “I want Cape Town to shine.”
