Dylan Sandile Jonas Msibi, better known as Soul-D, was born on July 26, 2002, in the vibrant city of Johannesburg, Gauteng. From a young age, music became an integral part of his life, thanks to the influence of his older brother, who introduced him to the world of rap. By the age of 10, Soul-D had already developed a deep connection with the genre, setting the stage for his artistic journey.
As a rising star of the current generation, Soul-D has made his mark with an impressive body of work. His discography includes one mixtape, two EPs, and a string of singles that showcase his versatility and passion. His latest release, UP, has further solidified his reputation as an artist to watch.
Speaking about the inspiration behind UP, Soul-D shared, “The song is written from an underdog perspective. It’s meant for anybody who ever felt they were seen as less than worthy but is determined to show their worth. The song embodies what it means to be self-made and not being afraid to take on the world single-handedly.”
Soul-D’s music not only resonates with listeners but also captures the essence of resilience and ambition. With every release, he continues to carve out his place in the South African hip-hop scene, proving that the journey of an underdog can be just as powerful as the victory itself.
